Vyke Lite provides the end user with operator independent low cost SMS / text message and low cost international calling directly from the mobile phone. Closely related to the Vyke Pro service, Vyke Lite is oriented towards users that are primarily interested in low cost international calling or that do not have a mobile handset that supports Vyke Pro.

Like Vyke Pro, Vyke Lite is fully integrated with the mobile handset's address book and predictive text entry, providing a very simple to use interface for anyone accustomed to using a typical mobile phone.

Vyke Lite is a complementary communications service and does not replace an end user's existing mobile service provider. However, once installed on a Java-enabled mobile handset with wireless Internet access, Vyke Lite provides the end user with access to a suite of operator-independent communication services.

Vyke Lite interacts with the Vyke platform via wireless Internet. Using this data connection, Vyke Lite performs actions such as transmitting call set-up instructions and low cost SMS for delivery to their destination. However, Vyke's low cost international calling service is provided via callback from the Vyke network, allowing users that do not have a VoIP capable mobile phone to benefit from Vyke's low international calling rates.
